Are you a passionate and driven Filipino youth aged 12 to 25? Do you want to make a difference and have your voice heard on important youth-related issues? Here's your chance!

 

About KIYO Philippines and NYAB

KIYO Philippines is excited to announce the formation of its National Youth Advisory Board (NYAB). This dynamic team will play a crucial role in advising KIYO on its future directions and priority programs. As part of an international NGO supported by the DGD of the Belgian Development Cooperation, NYAB is the local chapter representing the Philippines in the KIYO-wide International Youth Advisory Board (IYAB), alongside other chapters from Belgium, Brazil, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

 

Volunteer and Make a Difference

This is a voluntary, unpaid position with a duration yet to be determined. Once organized, NYAB members will set their own trajectory and work plan in alignment with the current DGD program, "Empowering Youth Together in the Philippines 2022-2026".

 

Your Role Matters

NYAB's formation directly connects KIYO Philippines to the youth, making KIYO more dynamic and youth-driven. You will engage in direct discussions with fellow youth to understand their evolving context, views, perspectives, and priorities. NYAB members can represent KIYO Philippines in local activities and networking engagements, champion KIYO's agenda of global and active citizenship, and participate in KIYO PH's institutional activities.

 

Who We're Looking For

To be eligible for this exciting opportunity, you should:

  • Be Filipino, aged 12 to 25.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of current youth-related issues and empowerment.
  • Bring creativity and innovation to the table.
  • Have leadership and advocacy experience within various youth organizations.
  • Be willing to commit your time as a volunteer NYAB member.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both digitally and in-person, and have experience in training and coaching youth.
  • Align with KIYO's youth empowerment agenda, including global citizenship, education for sustainable development, gender equality and equity, sustainable development goals, protection, participation, and skills development of youth, life skills, and coaching and mentoring youth.

 

Currently, KIYO PH collaborates with youth champion organizations in the National Capital Region (NCR) and its adjacent regions, the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and Cebu. We enthusiastically welcome applications from areas and regions beyond KIYO PH's current reach.

If you are between 12-17 years old, please ensure you have parental/guardian consent.

 

Selection Timeline

Here's what you can expect:

October 2 – 14, 2023     National dissemination - Launching of the national call for applications

October 17-21, 2023      Screening and interviews of shortlisted applicants

October 24-28, 2023      Final selection and announcement
