Mélodie Arts


Mélodie joined KIYO in 2017 after working for the United Nations on advancing sport as a tool for development and peace, and managing high-quality international development programmes in Asia and the Middle East at the NGO Right to Play. After being responsible for the KIYO programmes in Belgium, the Philippines, Brazil, DRC and Burundi, she took up the role to lead the organisation. By providing strategy and change management, she is committed to making an impactful and sustainable contribution to children's lives around the globe.

Iris Bogaerts


Iris joined KIYO in 2012 as responsible for the operational, strategic and HR coordination. She has several years of experience in the private sector and worked as a volunteer with refugees in Ecuador. For her, KIYO offers the ideal opportunity for developing a high-quality, professional organisation that fights for the rights of the most vulnerable children.

Magali Guyaut

Financial Director and Manager of our program in Morocco

Since 2010, Magali has been responsible for the accounts and financial management of KIYO. In 2013 she joined our team and became the financial director and program manager of our projects in the South. 

Michiel De Baere

Project Officer Belgium

After lecturing at the Artevelde Hogeschool and serving as a protection officer at the Office of the Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons, Michiel De Baere started out on KIYO’s various education projects, raising awareness on children’s rights among young people and the general public.  

Sandra Bootsma

Child Rights Officer

Sandra has over 20 years of experience in the context of international solidarity. She worked in Burkina Faso, Benin, DR Congo and Rwanda for projects in the agricultural, education and youth sector as well as for organisational development. She joined KIYO in May 2018 as our Child Rights Officer and is responsible for the development and implementation of a number of child rights projects, including research, awareness raising, advocacy, knowledge management and support of actors in development cooperation.

Yousra Ben Alita


After gaining experience in different sectors and most recently in the mobility sector, Yousra is glad to work for an organisation like KIYO that puts children at the heart of its work. As an accountant, she will assist KIYO's Financial Manager.

Jan Daniëls

Programme facilitator Brazil

For almost 20 years, Jan has been living in Brazil and working there with the most vulnerable children. He carries out projects that involve street children, children in conflict with the law and children growing up on the Jardim do Gramacho landfill in Rio de Janeiro.

Céline Baes

Programme facilitator DR Congo & Burundi

As the programme facilitator in the DRC and Burundi, Céline strives for the rights of children. She lives in Bujumbura and, for the past 6 years, she has been carrying out our projects in Burundi and the eastern part of the DRC. In Burundi, she can combine her passion for music, dance and travel. 

Roger Camps

Programme facilitator Philippines

After a career of six years as an industrial engineer in Belgium, and several visits to the Philippines, Roger started to do NGO work in the Philippines. For many years, food security and appropriate technologies were his field of work and contribution to a better life for the Filipino people. Since 2014 he is facilitating the KIYO programme in the Philippines, focusing on the realisation of the rights of children.

Fanny Polet

Coordinator of the common program with Viva Salud and Solidagro

After having worked as Partnerships Officer at the NGO Viva Salud for 10 years, Fanny coordinates the common program which links us with Viva Salud and Solidagro since May 2017. She facilitates the collaboration between our three organisations and promotes various synergy opportunities in order to reach more and more harmonisation between our three organizations because together, we are stronger!
